Hi guys! :) Guess who started making headpins all of the sudden?? That's right, moah. How come? Well, last week, AJE  hosted this awesome  Headpins Challenge Inspiration  and it was, indeed, very inspiring seeing all the beautiful creations the participants came up with. So much creativity! So much good stuff! Did I get to participate? Nope, I got busy fighting a flu virus I got from who-knows-where. I'm just lucky like that sometimes. But now I'm back in full force! Check it out, I made all these guys: A bead fiesta with messy wire wraps, solder blobs and looots of rust/oxidation! Really, what more can you ask for?? Happy dance!!!! First set with ruby red glass ~ love the way these beads capture the light! I didn't edit the photos at all, that's what these beads really look like in natural light, hot red awesomeness. Second pair with fancy Czech glass fire polished beads and solder spheres. Third pair, these are made of tiny crab claws, wire...

I started working on this set when I was camping in N. Carolina.  Mikey  went fishing for six hours and I  needed something to do. For four hours he said. Probably, I often lose track of time. Especially when I'm in my creating zone. Time disappears. My materials: an empty soup can, left from my previous dinner, that I have thrown in the fire the night before.  You don't want to leave any food out or anything that smells like food next to your tent when you go camping in the woods. Unless you want to share your campsite with a bear. And that wouldn't be fun, believe me. Despite all our precautions (burning the cans and the paper plates, washing and storing everything away in a big metal tool box, etc etc), a bear has "visited" us the second night we camped there. Mikey has returned from his four hour  fishing adventure proudly holding the two gorgeous trout he caught, and grilled them later that evening ~ I must say I was excite...

     I love spending time outdoors with my little bugs... ...what I don't love is seeing all the garbage people leave behind sometimes. As I'm walking my dogs I can't help noticing plastic bags, candy wrappers, an empty soda can... Pick it up! says a voice in my head... No way, gross! Why should I pick up somebody else's garbage?!     An old book from an antique store in Wisconsin, loved the cover.. .If it looked like this, I'd be garbage hunting all day. But it doesn't... I remember when Mikey and I used to go fishing and I used to pick up the empty beer cans, the fishing line and whatever else was left behind by other fishermen. It really bothers me. I can't enjoy nature with all that stuff lying around. And something else... Cookie points, remember? A friend of mine loves birds. He talks to them and always has a cracker or some seeds for them... Why are you always feeding the birds? I asked. I like them...  h...
