House of Leaves

Philanthropy Fashion  store in Saint Augustine. Loved it. “What can I say, I'm a sucker for abandoned stuff, misplaced stuff, forgotten stuff, any old stuff which despite the light of progress and all that, still vanishes every day like shadows at noon, goings unheralded, passings unmourned, well, you get the drift. As a counselor once told me -a counselor for Disaffected Yought, I might add:  " You like that crap because it reminds you of you. "  Couldn't of said it better or put it more bluntly. Don't even disagree with it either.” ―   Mark Z. Danielewski ,  House of Leaves   Right on. I bought the book just because of this one quote.  “I do not know anything about Art with a capital A. What I do know about is my art. Because it concerns me. I do not speak for others. So I do not speak for things which profess to speak for others. My art, however, speaks for me. It lights my way.” ―  Mark Z. Danielewski ,  House of Leaves...

Hi guys!! :) My head pins have been a success so far, I am so excited!! I am very grateful for all your lovely comments & hearts on  Instagram  , here, on G+ , my super awesome family , they truly mean a lot , especially since this is my first time making head pins.  Thank you!!! “The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”  ―  W.B. Yeats   Iridescent glass beads caged in thin, rusty Copper wires + Tibetan Silver caps + solder blobs + more Copper wire + tons of oxidizing = MAGIC ! I want more of these! One more picture just because they're sooo cute!!! ...Okay, moving on! These have already sold to a very lovely Lady , along with two other sets! I'm really excited but now I'm nervous too because what if she doesn't like them when she sees them in person ? What if she saw the pictures and imagined them...different? Vintage Beauties

Hi guys, how have you been? All is good, I hope! :) I'm really excited about this new pair of earrings, let me tell you a little bit about it: these adorable fish charms are articulate, very moveable and flexible, made of 14K gold, hallmarked. Where did I get them from? My Antique Lady! I did some research on them and found out that they were made circa 1900-1920s ~ 100 years old!?! They have two intact Red Ruby Round Cut Gems set as the eyes in a four prong setting and their price is about...$99 a piece, wow! Here for $99 , here for $360, this one is bigger, not so many details though.   Here's a similar fish for $798 (!!) 9K gold from 1890! How do they come up with these prices, I wonder..? $798 for a 9k gold fish from 1890, my fish are from 1900-1920, about 10 to 30 years younger, that would make them worth...well, it's art, I guess you could price it anywhere. Supply and demand. Just give me $200 for them and we're good. Kidding. Or not. W...

Statement Earrings Tutorial ~ Ancient Treasures

Image
Hi guys!! It's me, the 13th Feeriee...remember me?? I know, I tend to journey pretty often into my La La Land... but, I do bring a lot of good stuff back with me.   Oh, I've read somewhere that the 13th Fairy never gets invited to the ball ~ nonsense!! She gets invited all the time, she's just too busy making jewelry. Anyways, I was wasting time  looking for some inspiration on Pinterest the other day, when I saw  these earrings ...pretty awesome, right? So I thought it would be cool to use them as inspiration for my next pair: ...I know, they don't look much like my inspiration pair, lol. There's an explanation. While I do love the clean, abstract shapes of the modern, contemporary jewelry designs, I am in love  with that rustic, organic form of rough crystals and the unique, imperfect beauty of handmade elements. So, here I am, trying to blend the opposites...aren't they cute??  A pair of  Ancient Treasures made b...
