On the right way

This one sold yesterday, $10 including shipping. Because I only saw the sale today, a day late, I'm sending it express 2 day shipping. I want my customer to receive it by Friday, as he was supposed to, domestic shipping shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 days. The shipping was $6.50 + Etsy charges...I guess that leaves me with about 3 bucks.

I wanted to send him something extra so I have also included these two guys, plus some drilled Carnelian chips and a pair of doves carved from shells, to match.

All that is worth more than 3 bucks so I guess my business is experiencing negative profit right now. Heck, I'm such a good business woman!

But hey, I want my customers to be happy, to feel that they've got their money's worth and more. To open that package and feel like it's Christmas. I want them to love it.

Making jewelry is my passion. Bringing joy to others through my passion is my dream. Turning my passion into a profitable business is a lesson that I'm still learning. But somehow, negative profit and all, I feel like I'm on the right way.

  1. Yesterday, I made some calculations on an order and I noticed that I was losing a lot of money. I charge $ 15 shipping for necklaces, but after deducting of etsy fees and interest on the exchange costs, and different taxes I pay here, nothing left for me, or neither cover my suplly expenses. Another problem is that I had to send the parcel by paying 25Euros because my package exceeded 3 cm thick! Internal Rules of the French post!!!
Plus, no one buy my jewelry here!
At end, I was only happy because I sold Something and I will make someone happy!
So yes of what you said:

"Making jewelry is my passion. Bringing joy to others through my passion is my dream. Turning my passion into a profitable business is a lesson that I'm still learning. But somehow, negative profit and all, I feel like I'm on the right way" :)

    1. Somewhere out there, some very lucky ladies are happy because they have received your creations and that's what counts the most! xo
