NEW STUFF!! Rustic Polymer

I'm gonna start blogging more often because I always end up with a lot of stuff that I want to show you and then I get anxiety attacks cause I can't remember if I showed you everything I was planning to and then I have to go back and look through all my folders with jewelry pictures and because I'm not organized it gets very confusing. Whoa, that was a long sentence. *breathe*

The photo above, even though a bit blurry, is one of my favorites. Why? Because it looks like a mess at first, but it's actually an organized mess if you look closely and when you do, your eye discovers similar items close to each other just like in one of those fun hidden object games and starts pairing and categorizing everything until your mind concludes that the mystery mess is solved and organized. Now your eye can finally relax and enjoy all the artistic details because that's why you're here to see something pretty and not to listen to my ramblings, but dagnabbit, I should have taken more mystery mess pictures like this and make you play hidden object games all day.

The Star Breather

Polymer beads painted in one of the best color combinations ever, me thinks. Gold was often paired with blue, usually Lapis Lazuli, in Ancient Egyptian royal jewelry ~ ancient jewelry is an endless source of inspiration for me. I carved The All Seeing Eye and the starry night sky on them with a toothpick ~ very easy, if you want to try it. The pendant is a broken Sand dollar I found on the beach ( I never find a whole one! ) that I soldered with a small Sea glass bead and a pearl that became the Moon after I had the idea to paint it blue and gold like the beads. Look at the natural texture on it. Squeee!!!

Small polymer charms, inspired by..? Ancient jewelry, of course. I glued the tiny crystals with Mod Podge and sprinkled Jacquard Gold dust on it.

 Gold Roses
Gold Roses

Oh, these roses! Made them a few months ago and I sprayed them with Krylon Clear Glaze to seal them, I don't know why because you don't really need to seal polymer clay and I almost never do, but they got all sticky and didn't want to dry up so I had to sand them and repaint them, a pain because of all the ruffles and crevices but they came out looking so pretty. #proudmomma After all the sanding I was afraid they were gonna break so I poured Mod Podge on them. I pour that stuff on everything, I think I'm addicted to it. Dusted with Jacquard Gold, another addiction.

Ancient Sunsets

So proud of these primitive poly guys! Paint, let them dry, sand them, paint again ( yellow brown acrylic mix ) and so on for a few times, add a few drops of gold alcohol ink, let it dry, sand carefully with a soft file ( a cheap nail file works just fine ) and finally paint some details, a scene, anything you like. I tried to paint a sunset ~ you know, the red sun setting over the blue ocean...do you see it? I know you do! :) Already listed on Etsy.

Speaking of Etsy, OMG you guys! This listing has 257 favorites right now and counting! *faints*

Shine.

If you're wondering how did I get so many faves, you'll find out about it next time, I have to go walk my boys now. But let's take a moment before I leave and notice my new awesome background ~ thank you. It's a tank top from Old Navy! I know! :)

It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I'm still in my PJ's and I haven't eaten anything...well, actually I had some cookies, if those count as food.

See you soon!
